SW Portland

The Suburbs to the West of Portland vary from the Tech Heavy Silicon Forest to the tranquil hills of wine country. The westside has so many different areas to choose from you are sure to fall in love with one of them.

Beaverton

Lovingly named Portland’s little brother, this town is just over the hill from downtown Portland and has a vibe all its own.  There is a vibrant downtown for dinner, coffee, and shopping. Also, there is a huge network of trails through the city for both hiking and biking. Home to Nike world headquarters, this busy city is a great place to make your own.

Hillsboro

Once vast farmlands, the towns people valued innovation.  Now known as the “tech forest”, thanks to giants like Genentec and Intel, this city has been drawing many tech startups which is creating rapid growth.  The quickly expanding city is home to many new construction neighborhoods as well as a historic downtown. At the edge of the Portland Metro area, Hillsboro is your gateway into the forested coast range.   

Lake Oswego

Portland’s most affluent suburb, this community surrounds the namesake lake.  There is a very chic downtown shopping area with local boutiques,  high end retail, and a variety of restaurants. Lake Oswego is best know for its support of the arts. They have performing art centers, many art galleries, and host a variety of art events throughout the year. 

Newberg

Oregon’s wine country is a wonderful place to live and visit.  Home to some of the best Pinot Noirs in the world, there are so many wineries to visit you couldn’t possibly hope to try them all.  Newberg has a bustling art scene and many restaurants whose chefs use the local ingredients to craft some of the finest food around.  

Tigard

Tigard is the perfect place to live for anyone that enjoys recreation.  There is the huge Fanno Creek Wilderness Area, with trails for hiking and biking. Washington Square Mall, for some of the best shopping in the metro area. And multiple Golf courses for anyone needing a tee time.  They also have a balloon festival every June that draws in tons of locals and tourists alike. 

West Linn

West Linn is one of the oldest settlements in Oregon.  Being a historic old town has led to many fun activities for tourists and local alike.  They have walking tours, jet boat tours, fishing excursions, and many farm to table restaurants.  All of this leads to a very lively community full of friendly people.
