June Events

Summer has started a bit early this year and we are certainly hopeful that it will stick around! June is also the start of festival season in Portland and we have some good ones to kick things off! These June events are sure to be an absolute blast and there are also so many beer festivals they have their own section!

First Thursday

Stroll through the art galleries in the pearl for an evening of art, music, and wine! Parking is difficult so public transit is recommended

Portland Rose Festival

Declared the city’s official festival in 2010, the celebration includes more than 60 events, starting in late May and ending in mid-June. With the festival comes parades, carnival rides, art shows, dragon boat races, fun runs and more. Juneteenth

Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a day, a week, and in some areas, a month marked with celebrations, guest speakers, picnics and family gatherings. It is a time for reflection and rejoicing. It is a time for assessment, self-improvement and planning for the future.

Red Dress Party

The Red Dress Party is finally back this year. Get your masks and costumes ready for MasqueRED

At Portland’s annual Red Dress Party, all attendees are required to wear a red dress or pre-approved attire. Tickets to the event include entrance to the party, entertainment, dancing, as well as food and drinks all evening. All proceeds from this year’s Red Dress party will benefit Planned Parenthood and Q Center.

Festival of Balloons

Summer is the perfect time for scenic activities like picnics, hikes, beach trips and maybe even hot-air balloon rides. In Oregon, you don’t have to travel far to see an impressive, picture-perfect display of your own. The Festival of Balloons in Tigard (a suburb 30 minutes southwest of downtown Portland by car) brings more than a dozen brightly colored, colossal hot-air balloons to the sky every June.

Festival of the Arts

For more than 50 years, the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts has proudly presented unique art exhibits including more than 600 local, national, and international artists. Visitors can also experience live music on two stages, performances, kids’ activities, artist demos, and a variety of food. It’s free to the public (donations encouraged) and attracts thousands of festival-goers each year.
